Machadodorp

We are picking up pace in to 2010. This week and next our staff team is taking a class through Campus Crusade called Bible Study Methods where we will learn to study scripture accurately to be able to teach others in large and small group settings effectively. After day 1 I know I am going to love this course. The teaching is done by two women and one of them is from Richmond, VA. We had a great chat about the "Old Dominion" today...God's gift of love for me is present even in the smallest of conversations!

As far as soccer ministry goes I am lining up some appointments with academy coaches and players over these next couple weeks so pray that these initial contacts are fruitful and beneficial.

Lately God has been speaking in to my heart. The word He gave me today was to 'flee mediocrity'. I need to press in to knowing more of my identity in Him and leaving all the mediocre things in my life behind. Its time I turn to Him in full submission and remember the days of my first love (Revelation 2:4). This is a pivotal time in my walk with Him...I can just feel it in my bones.

This past weekend some of my friends and i went camping in a cool place called Machadodorp in the province of Mpaumalunga. We hiked about 10 miles all together for the weekend over 2 days in some rain forest-like areas along with rolling hills that resembled scenes from Braveheart and Lord of Rings. Here are some pictures from the weekend...

Pressing on.

a video for you!

here is a great video on the state of Christianity in today's world. Please check it out and pray over the countries and people groups mentioned in this video to have the truth revealed to them. Lets usher in the light to the darkest places on earth...

in Bloemfontein

Google maps said 12 hrs 45min....Riley and I made in 10. Average speed 130kph...You can do the math Americans

It was a great drive filled with music from like likes of : Phoenix, Hillsong, Weezer, and a message from John Piper as church was in the car today.

As Bloemfontein is one of the host cities for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Riley and I will try to visit the stadium in the morning and get some pictures before we head out for the last 4 hours of our journey to Johannesburg.

As we were driving today I cant help but think of the huuuge things God will do this year in and through obedience and patience. I am excited for our movement with athletes in Joburg and also excited for my great friend Barrett Grant's Crusade STINT team arriving in Durban in just a couple weeks. Please pray over that Durban team as the members try to get the needed financial support before their departure date.

here are some pictures from today's drive. enjoy!

let the rhythm take you over

how else could you get through a 10 hour journey on day 1?

on the road again...

today we are headed back to the east after almost 4 weeks of being gone from Johannesburg. Riley and I will make the 12-hour leg today from Cape Town to Bloemfontein. Updates will be posted along the way. Have a great morning!
