Happy Thanksgiving!

Here is a video from the national Sportlinc staff to encourage our student athletes who are leading movements around the country. I thought it would be great for all of you out there to see the people I work with on a daily basis. I am thankful for each one of you who read this blog and pray over me and my ministry. Your support whether it be financial or prayer or a meal...all of it I am so thankful for.  Happy Thanksgiving from the Athletes in Action Sportlinc Staff!

Mount Vernon at Ohio State...and Matt Barkley is Second

Last night I was able to facilitate something pretty special. Before I tell you about last night listen to See I am coaching Mt Vernon Nazarene through my job at Athletes in Action. What that looks like is building in to the AIA rep on campus Justin Brown, who is a student athlete at Mt Vernon. He has a vision to reach his athletic department for Christ. Its exciting to see him gather the Christian athletes on campus and start a movement there this fall. They just had their first large group meeting and over 50 athletes came out. At a small school this is amazing! Shoot at any school its amazing! ANNNYWAys I took the leaders that Justin has grouped together at Mt Vernon and had them meet me in Columbus last night for Athletes in Action large group meeting at Ohio State. This was to help them dream...help them envision what God can do on their campus. See Ohio State's weekly large group meeting is almost completely student led and Mt Vernon has a great opportunity to see what God can do on their campus. The Mt Vernon student athletes plugged in and really were blessed by their time there. Keep praying for Justin and the movement there to grow!

Below is a video from USC Quarterback Matt Barkley. He explains why he comes in Second place to God in his life. Its a great 4 minute video. so please check it out!

Philly Conference and visiting Villanova

I have been in Philadelphia these past few days helping put on a conference for our campus staff of Athletes in Action. Its actually one of four conferences happening in the 4 corners of the USA over the next four weeks to get our campus staff on the same page with some new initiatives and vision. We are trying to reach out to the world through our USA campus ministries and in that process our new scope must be communicated effectively. Its an exciting time of encouragement and seed planting for future fruit within our campus ministry.

Tonight I will go to Villanova to meet one of the guys I am coaching, Bret, who is a golfer. I am so excited to meet Bret in person as we have already been meeting over the past month on skype. Join me there tonight at their bible study meeting in prayer together from wherever you are for the ministry God is doing with the Wildcat student athletes. We are so excited for what God is doing and going to do at Villanova and I only want to feed that holy fire that is there. Thank you guys for allowing me to invest in guys like Bret!

REPORTED!!

I am pleased to announce that I have finished the support raising process and I have now moved all my stuff up to Ohio! Its been a crazy past couple weeks but I am now here and just started work this week.

Today I was even able to start my coaching with college athletes. I had a skype appointment with a student athlete at Averett College in Danville, VA who is excited to reach his campus for Christ. It was so refreshing to get back in to the mode of building in to the lives of athletes.

I appreciate your prayers as I transition and move forward in life here in central Ohio. I am so thankful to be here. I pray that God restores all of you where you are too. Thank you for allowing me to be here!

Rocky Mountain High and 86%

Every two years all of Campus Crusade staff gather to get teaching and time with other staff. It was an awesome time of solid teaching and just quality fellowship. I appreciate the support that got me there.  The conference is held on the beautiful campus of Colorado State.

I am currently at 86% of my monthly needs met. I ahve to be at 100% support before I can report to Xenia, Ohio where my assignment is with AIA. I pray that it comes in within the month so I can move at the end of August and get right to work.

God has been soooo faithful to me. He will always be. That floors me. No matter how much of a mess I make it He is always there ready for me to pick it up and honor Him. We serve a mighty God who knows exactly what we need. I encourage you to surrender where you are and focus on Him. He will pick you up and help you see you are still just as loved and forgiven as you have always been.

At New Staff Training - In need of a car

Hey everyone! I know its been a long time since I have updated the blog and for that I apologize. I am currently in Daytona Beach for my training as I get further along with being on staff with Athletes in Action full time. Its been great to be here so far as Ive met many people who like me are transitioning to full time staff from being abroad the year before.

As I train here until February 6 I am looking for a car to get me around when I return. I sold my car before I left to South Africa and used that money to buy the very computer I type this blog out on now. So the most pressing need of my current situation is that of a car to get me around to my support appointments and my part time work that is in Charlottesville.

Also in Charlottesville I am looking for a place to live with my work being based there. If you or anyone has information as to a living situation there please contact me via email : andrew.eppes@gmail.com

thanks guys for sticking with me on the blog and I will be updating again very soon regarding my placement with Athletes in Action.
