preaching and a trip to Zimbabwe

This weekend I have a schedule more accustomed to most pastors. I will be speaking at 8am on Sunday morning at the School of Excellence in Kempton Park (East Johannesburg). This school is specific to boys and is soccer players only. How cool is that? ...a soccer specific boys high school! We are committing to doing a couple 'Sunday services' a month to this school to impact these boys some of which will be playing professionally in South Africa one day.

Sunday evening I am back at the Auckland Park Baptist Church for their 6pm service to speak. I will be going more Old Testament with this one I feel as I am doing most of my prep work today for both speaking engagements. Praying that God would impact these young hearts of the two services and even my own would be amazing. Im very thankful for the few or many that will read this to pray over this weekend and the lives of these people here.

Lately I have been looking at a time and opportunity to encourage more of the Athletes in Action body in Africa. I was thinking to myself how can I do this other than praying and sending the occasional email? Well AIA Zimbabwe has been one of the movements on my heart as I was able to connect well with their staff over the World Cup project. This past week, with the approval of Crusade in the States, I was able to get financial backing through some recent donations in to my staff account. I bought a plane ticket to Zimbabwe for this coming weekend leaving Thursday night and coming back on Monday morning in time to be on campus by the afternoon at UJ. This will be a trip to encourage them on the ground practically by participating in ministry alongside them. We will be doing local ministry around their base city, the captial of Harare, and also to my understanding venturing out to a rural part of 'Zim" to put on a soccer tournament in which we will bring the Gospel message. I am so excited for this time I will be getting with my brothers from Zim and I am also hyped up to be traveling some in southern Africa outside of South Africa. I will be sure to update you guys through the blog upon my return. Pictured below is myself and some of our Zimbabwean staff that I will be working with this coming week from August 26-August 30.
